Dime World
Dime World is a brand that provides mobile data and internet connectivity in over 70 countries, helping travellers stay connected without the burden of roaming charges. Its mission is to make global connectivity effortless, affordable, and accessible. With worldwide coverage, flexible plans, competitive rates, and no expiration, Dime World aims to remove the complexity that too often frustrates international travellers.
As the UI/UX Designer for the Dime World app, I was responsible for translating this mission into a coherent product experience. The challenge was not simply about creating an attractive interface, but about designing a system that users could trust—an interface that reduced anxiety, clarified options, and respected the realities of travelling.

Research & Discovery

I began with user research, focusing on the lived experiences of frequent travellers, digital nomads, and business professionals. Through competitor reviews and persona development, I uncovered recurring pain points:

Onboarding processes that felt unnecessarily complicated

Confusing pricing structures and hidden costs that eroded trust

Interfaces overloaded with features when users simply wanted quick connectivity

The ongoing hassle of swapping SIM cards at every destination

These findings led to a guiding principle: clarity over complexity, trust over ambiguity.
Design Process
The design was anchored in simplicity and efficiency. I created a minimal interface that allowed travellers to purchase and manage data in just a few taps. Primary tasks—buying a plan, checking balance, activating data—were brought to the forefront, while secondary functions were carefully organized to reduce clutter.
The visual design reinforced this approach:

ABOUT
Backend in a box called brainCloud is a cloud-based backend platform that provides pre-built features for game developers to build multiplayer, social, and free-to-play mobile games across platforms without having to develop their own backend systems.
It offers APIs for cloud data storage, multiplayer functionality, achievements, leaderboards, monetization through in-app purchases and promotions, and notifications. Developers can also extend its functionality through custom cloud code.
My mission was to refresh the brainCloud brand logo and enhance the user interface and experience design across key platform feature pages.
By introducing new features and optimizing existing ones, the goal is to create a more seamless, efficient, and engaging experience for developers, improving workflow, accessibility, and overall satisfaction.

This allows related functional pages to be more intuitively presented during user interactions, reducing the time users spend searching for them.

Problem Solving- Banner
One of the key UI enhancements I introduced after joining the team was the Banner feature redesign, aimed at improving workflow efficiency and real-time product performance tracking. This feature allows users to quickly monitor key operational metrics and revenue without navigating away from their current workspace or switching between different teams and products.
To achieve this, I implemented an expandable/collapsible interaction with a minimized state visualization, ensuring that even when the Banner is collapsed, users can still seamlessly switch between teams and view essential data in a compact format. This design significantly enhances usability, providing a more intuitive and streamlined experience, particularly for existing users who rely on quick access to performance insights.
This design effectively addresses the issue users previously faced on the platform—constantly switching between different functional pages to locate specific information. It enables users to quickly and efficiently compare and review data from various pages in one place.

Cloud Code

brainCloud allows developers to write custom Cloud Code routines in JavaScript, that reside and run on the brainCloud servers, allowing execution of code more securely and efficiently than if it were run client-side.
Advantages of Cloud Code scripts include:
