Ape Napoleon's Fantasy Adventures
Corny Chicken Theatre
Corny Chicken Theatre is a Taiwanese theatre company known for its playful, imaginative stage productions that blend humor, creativity, and storytelling to captivate audiences of all ages. I have had the privilege of working with them for several years, contributing to the visual identity of their unique performances.
Ape Napoleon's Fantasy Adventures is one of their remarkable stage plays. The story follows an orangutan scientist named Napoleon, who once dreamed of becoming Madame Curie but struggled with social anxiety. Her life changes when she adopts a terrier named Taco, who helps her step out of her shell—until one day, Taco runs away. In her search, Napoleon boards the Oriental Express, where she encounters the powerful banana industry noblewoman and her chimpanzee bodyguard.
This marks the beginning of a whimsical journey that takes Napoleon from the confines of her small laboratory to a world of endless adventure.

For this project, my responsibilities encompassed a wide range of visual design tasks. I created an engaging illustration to serve as the centerpiece of the promotional materials, including the main poster, flyers, and merchandise stickers.

The illustration was carefully crafted to reflect the essence of the play, drawing inspiration directly from its vivid characters and whimsical objects. By combining hand-drawn techniques with a flat illustration style, I captured both the intricate details and the playful personality of the story, resulting in visuals that were lively, cohesive, and memorable.

The final designs not only represented the thematic elements of the play but also served as a bridge between the stage and the audience. The merchandise stickers provided additional engagement, allowing fans to carry a piece of the story with them, while the posters and flyers heightened anticipation for the performance.
