The decision to use exquisite matte art paper in an eggshell color was inspired by the need to create a business card that felt as luxurious as it looked. The eggshell color, a soft off-white with subtle warmth, adds a layer of sophistication to the card, making it feel premium without being ostentatious.
The studio's branding is rooted in the idea that simplicity does not equate to plainness. Instead, simplicity here is a form of sophistication—an aesthetic choice that speaks to the studio's commitment to quality and professionalism. The business card had to embody this philosophy, becoming a tactile representation of what LUCIMA STUDIO stands for.
I collaborated with Alissia on a project for the Strathcona Wilderness Institute, where she was crafting a comprehensive remodeling business plan for this esteemed local organization. My role in this endeavor was to design the logo and related branding materials that would visually represent the institute’s mission and values.
In designing the logo, I sought to encapsulate the essence of the Strathcona Wilderness Institute by incorporating several symbolic elements that represent the park's diverse natural features. The logo integrates imagery of a hiker, mountain, trail, bird, and river, each element carefully chosen to reflect the institute’s focus on outdoor adventure and conservation.
The business card needed to be a reflection of LUCIMA Studio’s philosophy—minimalist yet sophisticated. Simplicity here is not about plainness but rather about a refined elegance that speaks to the studio's commitment to quality. The design had to balance being functional and leaving a lasting impression, effectively translating the studio's brand identity into a tactile form.
