I envisioned this scene as a seemingly endless vista with a touch of mist, adding a mysterious yet vibrant allure to the setting. It needed to be slightly surreal but still approachable, maintaining a whimsical and romantic charm.
The project required careful consideration of the large-scale output and the shapes after cutting. I aimed to avoid unnecessary lines, instead using gradient color blocks to emphasize the three-dimensionality of the objects and the scene. Importantly, as this is a backdrop and the main focus remains on the actors, I simplified many potential facial expressions in this illustration.

In this project, my primary responsibility was to create the stage set illustrations. The design centers around an arched wall featuring elements such as a garden archway of white roses being painted red, a marching card army, a rabbit holding a pocket watch, a flamingo golf club striking a hedgehog, a mysterious cat, and Alice, who has wandered into the Queen’s forest. The chessboard-like pathway extends toward the distant Queen's castle.

The Mad Tea Party scene is known for its eccentricity and liveliness, so the illustration concept should capture that chaotic charm while being visually appealing and easy to navigate for young audiences.
The design should balance vibrant colors, playful shapes, and whimsical elements to create a visually stimulating environment that draws the audience into the madcap world of Wonderland.

The Mad Tea Party is one of the most iconic and whimsical scenes from "Alice in Wonderland." For the Corny Chicken Theatre's immersive adaptation, catering to an intimate audience of 10 per show, the scene should be designed to captivate and engage young audiences, transporting them into the eccentric and magical world of Wonderland. The design should be interactive, colorful, and playful, allowing children to feel like active participants in the madness unfolding before them.
